I believe that the Democratic Party has been handed a political mandate, and think the great majority of Democrats feel Hakeem Jeffries has resoundingly failed in his obligation to meaningfully oppose President Trump's corruption and rampant abuse of the rule of law OR lead the Democratic Party in doing so.
Speaker Jeffries was offered the chance to comment on the Democratic victory, and some of his first words were that voters do not want to 'get even', they want to 'get things done'.
To hold power accountable to the rule of law IS getting things done. The Speaker seems to fail to understand that political corruption, the likes of which has never existed in American history prior to our current executive, is IN AND OF ITSELF a drain on the pocketbook and livelihood of the average American.
The rampant theft and grift siphons wealth from workers and small business owners to the 1% and the Epstein Class. Holding these people accountable for their crimes and protecting the welfare of the American people are not separate tasks - in fact, YOU CANNOT ACCOMPLISH ONE WITHOUT PURSUING THE OTHER.
I implore you to seek new leadership for the House of Representatives. Speaker Jeffries has shown he is unfit for the position.
