Keep fighting
To: Sen. Kelly
From: A constituent in Tucson, AZ
April 15
Good morning-
I wanted to send my appreciation for all you’ve been doing to represent us in Arizona, and in standing up for democracy in this country. I can only imagine you are tired, and I just want to recognize your efforts and express how important it is to your constituents.
I wish I had heard about the town hall you attended with Gabby, Cory Booker, Greg Staton, and (my former childhood swim team friend) Laura Conover. What a team! I would have loved to attend this, and I hope you do more of these- they matter.
I urge you to please keep standing up for democracy, the rule of law, and the power of checks and balances in the US. I am recently very disturbed by the Trump administrations blatant disregard for the rulings of our judicial system, and the lives this impacts in terrifying ways. We cannot let them kidnap folks legally allowed to be in this country and seeking citizenship through the proper channels. We cannot allow these people to be held in Salvadoran prisons known for human rights violations. We have to stop this NOW, before we get to the concentration camp level of this scenario. We are heading in that direction and it’s unthinkable. I’m
asking you to keep fighting.
I will keep contributing to your campaigns as well as those of your fellow Democrats. Please keep motivating them to do what’s right. And please keep reaching across the aisle to your fellow Republicans encouraging them to stand up for what they know in their hearts is right for the greater good of the country.
We need you all, or we lose everything.
Thank you.
