The recent AP report revealing that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared sensitive operational details of a U.S. airstrike in a private Signal chat — including launch times and mission specifics — is not just reckless, it’s a fireable offense. This is the second time Hegseth has jeopardized national security. That’s not a “mistake.” That’s a pattern of dangerously poor judgment.
Sharing real-time military details with his wife, brother, and personal attorney, in a group chat called “Defense | Team Huddle,” is a stunning violation of security protocol. We have rules for a reason. This wasn’t some accidental email forward — it was a deliberate decision to put optics and ego over operational safety.
If anyone else in the military or intelligence community had done this, they’d be under investigation or already out of a job. Hegseth should not be held to a lower standard just because of his connections or media profile.
I’m calling on you to demand his immediate resignation and to push for a full investigation into both this incident and his prior breach. Our national security is not a talking point, and we can’t afford leadership that treats it like one.
