If king Trump appoints you to court, it’ll be as a jester. Stop being clowns.

Upon the success of the United States revolutionary war, the people were so enamored with the performance of General George Washington that they encouraged him to accept the position of king. Washington, however, famously declared that a new king would only create a new empire driven by the desires of one man. From this revelation was born the idea that the public should be given the opportunity to voice their opinions and elect people who represent their needs and values to the presidency. As part of this experiment in democracy, our forefathers created a checks and balances system that, while never perfect, did its due diligence to maintain the structure of a constitutional republic for nearly 250 years before falling victim to the greed and power-grabs of an angry orange pseudo dictator. Never before have we kowtowed to a president in this matter. Prior to trump, presidents could not pursue individual ventures for profit. They could not create or defy laws that curtail government overreach. They could not leverage specific outcomes against congressional votes or make threats to receive the support he needs to put unqualified people in serious positions of power. They could not declare war without congressional approval. They did not put insurrectionists in authoritarian jobs. They did not allow the DOJ to act as their personal attorneys. They did not pardon themselves or exempt themselves from investigations. They did not express the desire to grab women by the pussy or have sexual relations with children including but not limited to their own daughters. They did not bury their wives on their properties for cemetery tax exemptions. They did not force the FCC to censure journalists from disclosure. The list goes on and on. In spite of vast and egregious attempts (and in some cases successes) of voter suppression initiatives, you all still run for office and we all still vote. Why is it then that you allow your commander in chief to continually violate the trust of the American people whom you (pretend to) represent? Are you hoping he’ll appoint you to his court upon his unfettered and uninhibited coronation? Is that it? Newsflash- even if he does, you’ll serve as nothing more than court jesters… which is convenient because that’s how you’re acting right now. Get it together. Impeach Trump and his cronies now.
