Reject discriminatory SAVE Act, uphold voting rights

To: Rep. Moore, Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis

From: A constituent in Cherryville, NC

April 8

The SAVE Act seeks to undermine the fundamental right to vote by imposing unnecessary and discriminatory barriers to voter registration. Its requirements for documentary proof of citizenship would disproportionately disenfranchise marginalized communities, including people of color, the elderly, and those with disabilities who may lack certain documents. This act is a thinly veiled attempt at voter suppression that targets vulnerable populations. Rather than erecting obstacles to the ballot box, we should be working to expand access to voting and ensure our elections are free, fair and accessible to all eligible citizens. This misguided legislation must be rejected to uphold the core democratic principles of our nation. Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy, and any efforts to restrict this fundamental right are unacceptable. I urge you to oppose the SAVE Act and protect every citizen's ability to make their voice heard at the polls.
