I just read this at NYTimes: “Senator Tim Kaine, Democrat of Virginia, said he would vote to reopen the government after securing language in the short-term spending bill to restore laid-off federal workers to their jobs and ensure they received back pay. “This legislation will protect federal workers from baseless firings, reinstate those who have been wrongfully terminated during the shutdown, and ensure federal workers receive back pay, as required by a law I got passed in 2019,” Kaine said in a statement. “That’s a critical step that will help federal employees and all Americans who rely on government services.” I’m sorry, sir, but that’s not enough. People have been out of work for over a month, limping along without pay or food benefits. The community is mobilizing to fill the gaps that snap has left behind. We just had record wins on Tuesday. Do you think this same people are going to vote for you if you cave on this? Do not vote yes unless you get the ACA credits extended for a year.
