I urge to defend Congress’s constitutional power of the purse by demanding a budget that includes strong guardrails on the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
Right now, OMB can delay or override funding decisions that Congress has already approved — including critical funding for agencies like NASA. This not only undermines Congress’s role, but also jeopardizes vital programs that support innovation, science, and our leadership in space.
NASA’s work depends on stable, predictable funding, and when OMB interferes, it threatens missions, contracts, and jobs in communities across the country.
Congress alone has the authority to allocate public funds. Letting the executive branch rewrite or ignore those decisions is a dangerous overreach that weakens the balance of power our democracy depends on.
