CONGRESSIONAL ACTION REQUESTED AGAINST TRUMP’S MASS DETENTION REGIME

To: Rep. Foushee, Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis

From: A verified voter in Holly Springs, NC

June 22

I am writing to ask you to use every tool at your disposal to address the violence happening at Delaney Hall and detention centers around the country.  Specifically, I urge you to do the following:  1 Draw attention to the conditions at Delaney Hall and detention centers around the country by visiting Delaney Hall or local detention sites 2 Investigate ICE detaining thousands of immigrants under dangerous conditions  3 Ensure Members of Congress gain access to people in detention at Delaney Hall Delaney Hall and all detention centers must be shut down, and the expansion of the detention machine in this country must be stopped, and all responsible for these conditions must be held to account. These detention centers are akin to concentration camps. Why on earth do these structures exist when being in the US illegally is only a misdemeanor? I expect you to use your power as an elected official to demand dignity for immigrants and reject any expansions to Trump’s mass detention and deportation agenda.
