I’m one of your constituents in Grand Junction, reaching out to ask you to oppose H.R. 22, the SAVE Act, which would force voters to prove their citizenship when registering. Almost 10 percent of American citizens lack the required documentation, and getting a passport or certified birth certificate is expensive and time-consuming. Passing this legislation would disenfranchise many voters, particularly the poor and women who have had a name change. I hope I can count on your “no” vote on HR 22.
