Please vote to pass HR 2913 The Ukraine Support Act in the House and vote for it when it reaches the Senate. In addition to authorization for military aid, this bill combines stronger sanctions, lend-lease authority, intelligence sharing, and trade tools into a single package spanning nine committee jurisdictions. We should always remember, Ukraine is not asking for American soldiers. Ukraine needs the tools to defend itself against a brutal illegal invasion that has killed tens of thousands of civilians. In 1992, with the Lisbon protocol, Ukraine voluntarily gave up its nukes in exchange for, eventually, the promises of the 1994 Budapest memorandum. Ukraine is now the buffer between Putin's illegal aggression and expansionist ambitions and our European democratic allies. Russia was a party to that agreement by which the US, UK, and Russia pledged to respect Ukraine's independence and existing borders, and to refrain from the threat or use of force. Russia has betrayed that agreement with impunity. Trump has favored Putin at every turn and hindered our support for Ukraine. The world has been scandalised by Trump's adherence to Putin, our foe, and horrified by his words and actions to undermine Ukraine and our NATO allies. Along with passing HR 2913 in the House and Senate, I therefore ask you to - *Reaffirm our commitment to NATO. *Hold hearings on Trump's treatment of Ukraine and favouritism towards Putin. It's time to quit giving Trump your allegiance. You're duties are to uphold the US Constitution and represent the constituents in your domain. America has long considered Russia a threat to our country. Stop this insanity before our country is exposed to any more threats from Russia.
