Reject dismantling education department, strengthen student support
To: Rep. Salinas
From: A constituent in Beaverton, OR
February 3
The proposed legislation to terminate the Department of Education raises significant concerns and should not be enacted. Abolishing this vital federal agency would have severe repercussions for the nation's education system and the future of millions of students. The Department plays a crucial role in ensuring equal access to quality education, protecting students' rights, and providing crucial funding and resources to schools across the country. Its elimination would undermine educational standards, exacerbate inequalities, and deprive countless children and youth of the support they need to succeed academically. I urge you to reject this misguided proposal and instead work towards strengthening and improving the Department of Education to better serve the needs of our students and communities.
