No ICE at the polls

To: Sen. Sundareshan, Rep. Mathis, Rep. Gutierrez, Gov. Hobbs

From: A constituent in Tucson, AZ

February 18

I have read that the state Senate is considering a bill that would station ICE agents at polling sites. I urge you to oppose this. Voting by noncitizens is vanishingly rare, and Arizona already requires proof of citizenship to register as a voter. ICE has a track record of lawless violent behavior against immigrants and citizens alike. Their presence would serve mainly to intimidate legitimate voters, the opposite of democracy.
