An Open Letter
To: Rep. Hageman
From: A constituent in Torrington, WY
February 26
What a shock it was last night, after all your emails bragging about how hard you work for our state, to learn that you had voted to harm so many of our citizens!
My 43 year old disabled son is one of them. He had a brain tumor when he was 6, and the cranial radiation he had permanently damaged his cortex - the part of the brain responsible for executive function. He’s a fantastic person who is incapable of working and relies on Medicaid to help pay for the care and medication that he needs. Maybe you can have the honor of meeting him when you next come to Torrington.
I find it disheartening that you voted for the budget bill - against the best interests of your constituents - which gives another huge tax break to 12 families while cutting services for fine folks back home. I’ve wept as you gift-wrapped the constitutional power of congress and laid it at the feet of Donald Trump. Will your job also be terminated by the shadow president Musk once you have delivered the vestige of power to make us a monarchy?
My late husband’s 40 years of service to this nation, both military and civil service, were to protect and defend our Constitution, not to end it. Can you claim that same calling?
My ask, Representative, is that you stop talking and start listening to the people of Wyoming - all of us. I’ll see you at your town hall here.
Thanks.
