Stand Up for Free & Independent Governance
To: Rep. Carey
From: A constituent in Columbus, OH
March 10
I am concerned by reports that members of Congress are facing undue pressure—including threats—to align with certain individuals rather than voting their conscience or representing their constituents. Every elected official, regardless of party, should be free to do their job without intimidation.
As my representative, I want to know:
• Do you believe members of Congress should be able to vote and speak freely, without fear of retribution?
• Will you publicly oppose any threats—no matter where they come from—that attempt to coerce elected officials into ignoring their constituents?
• Will you stand by your colleagues who are being targeted, such as Representative Jasmine Crockett and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?
This is not about partisanship—it’s about ensuring that lawmakers can do their jobs free from outside control. You took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and I urge you to reaffirm your commitment to fair, democratic governance.
I look forward to your response.
