Hi Adam, I'm writing today to ask you to immediately and forcefully call for the resignation of Chuck Schumer, the Senator from Walmart as Senate Minority Leader for his shameful and craven orchestration of the betrayal of the American people in this latest action on the continuing resolution. I must admit, I do not have high hopes that you will do that. It is widely assumed that this was a backroom deal, with exactly 8 reasonably safe democratic Senators, just the number needed for passage, flipping and allowing other corporately captured democrats to hide behind their no votes. And I was vastly disappointed in you recently, when you crossed the aisle to support Trump's Crypto bill. So like I say, I don't have high hopes. I should be obvious now that the American people are FURIOUS with Donald Trump and the GOP agenda, and showed up at the polls in the most sweeping condemnation of a sitting president...ever. I get why you and other senate democrats may be afraid, complacent or just too comfortable with corporate money flowing your way to rock this boat, but the boat is sinking, and you, of all people, the target of trumped up charges from the DOJ should understand just how precarious your position is, and if someone with your level of privilege is in danger, imagine how we feel on the streets. Here's what baffles me: there is a tremendous amount of free-floating power just sitting there. The American people have woken from their civic slumber, and they are pissed, and they will fight fiercely for people that will fight for them. Someone who could actually bring themselves to care about working class people, and take up their banner could grab that power, and take their place in history. Heather Cox Richardson recently made the point that Abraham Lincoln was a corporate lawyer and undistinguished 1st term congressman when he rose to meet the moment, and the American people rose to meet him. I didn't vote for you. And if you fail to support the vast majority of the American people and immediately call for the resignation of Chuck Schumer, I will work my ass off to primary you in the midterms. I hope you will rise to the occasion. American democracy needs your support. I need your support. Choose the right side of history.
