Citizens united has gutted American representative democracy. It is no longer one person one vote. It is simply and straightforwardly money wins. Our engagement with the Democratic process is at despicable lows. People no longer believe in the American dream. They don't even believe in American democracy. We have to take back the vote! And take money out of politics! Congress is so tied to the money that undoing citizens united has become impossible. The supreme Court is tied right in with big money! So now it is up to the states! Hawaii has shown us the way! There are many states, red and blue, that realize that money has corrupted our politics. We HAVE break the system has corrupted our political system. Hawaii has shown the way! But we can do it too! The states control the definition and the rules regarding corporations and organizations organized and operating within their boundaries. Colorado can make it illegal for corporations to contribute to political and referendum contests. Hawaii has shown the way! Colorado must do it too!
