Please cosponsor H.R. 10298, the PSLF Inclusion Act of 2026

To: Rep. Pappas

From: A constituent in Bedford, NH

October 10

Please cosponsor H.R. 10298, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Inclusion Act of 2026. I am a VA psychologist and your constituent. This month I reach 120 months of qualifying public service, the ten years PSLF requires. I still can't get forgiveness, because more than 13 of those months fell in the SAVE administrative forbearance. My only option now is to apply to "buy back" those months and join a queue of more than 80,000 applications, with waits past two years. H.R. 10298 fixes this. As I understand it, it counts administrative forbearance months toward PSLF for borrowers who were working for a qualifying employer, with no buyback application. That clears the backlog and saves the Department of Education the cost of processing each request by hand. Teachers, nurses, first responders, and VA staff in your district kept our end of the deal. We are asking that the months we worked be counted. The bill has only nine cosponsors and could die in committee. Please add your name, and please tell me where you stand. This issue will be on my mind when I vote in November.
