Not actually Columbus…

Only 14 votes against a proposed 2018–19 Texas state budget that completely guts our already weak high-quality pre-K grant program. It’s a disgrace to let billions of dollars sit unspent in a bank account while poor kids suffer.

The Texas Legislature is in keeping with the plan of U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. That’s a disgrace, too. An economy as robust as the world has ever seen, and a second-rate education system leaves the poor undereducated to participate as full economic partners.
