I am writing to strongly oppose Russell Vought’s nomination. His views and actions completely contradict the values that should guide a government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Vought’s history of undermining the separation of powers, promoting extreme partisanship, and abusing political power is deeply troubling. His actions, like disregarding accountability and transparency, are nothing short of dangerous. Supporting his nomination sends the wrong message—that political power is a tool for self-interest, not for serving the people.
This is not the kind of leadership we need. Ronald Reagan said, “Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.” Vought’s record does the opposite—it shows a willingness to consolidate power for personal gain and a lack of respect for the institutions that hold our government accountable. That’s not conservative, and it’s certainly not what our country needs right now.
I urge you to oppose this n omination. We need leaders who believe in checks and balances, who will stand for the integrity of our democratic institutions and not simply enable dangerous behavior for the sake of partisanship.
Choose to defend the values this country was built on and reject the dangerous path that Vought represents.
