I am opposed to seating Amy Comey Barrett on the Supreme Court. After recent testimony, it is clear that her originalist interpretation of the Constitution is grossly inadequate in handling issues relating to modern issues affecting the health and well being of millions of Americans. The Constitution is a living document, NOT the dead and static tome of originalists' fantasies.
Ms. Barrett is the Trojan Horse that Trump wants to wreck the ACA, resulting in loss of insurance for 20 million Americans and loss of preexisting condition coverage for 100 million Americans during a deadly pandemic that has ALREADY KILLED 215,000 Americans. But Barrett doesn't care about people losing preexisting condition coverage. She is only concerned with her myopic originalist viewpoint.
The American people deserve a justice that reflect their views: strengthen the ACA, protect reproductive freedom, and defend the rights of LGBTQ+ people. Barrett will do none of these. Her candidacy for SCOTUS must be rejected.
