Congress needs to stop applying a different set of rules to Trump than it would to any other president. The double standard is obvious and it makes the entire institution look corrupt. If any other president engaged in this conduct, Congress would act immediately. But Trump gets a pass time and again. This isn't about partisanship. It's about whether our system of checks and balances still functions or whether one person is above accountability. The American people see what's happening. We see Congress refusing to enforce standards it would apply to anyone else. That erodes trust in government itself. Use your oversight authority. Hold hearings. Demand answers. Apply the same rules to Trump that you would apply to any president, regardless of party.
