I am writing to urge you to exercise your Constitutional powers to put a stop to the illegal, immoral, and ill-advised actions of the Executive Branch. Below is a short list of grievances that I implore you to consider. • Denial of due process to non-citizens deported to a foreign prison, and refusal to comply with a Supreme Court order to request the return of those people who have been sent away due to errors and mistakes (Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Merwil Gutierrez, and others). • Illegal mass-firings of government employees and cancellations of government contracts, especially those involved in scientific research and health care. • Infringement on freedom of speech for businesses, universities, and private citizens. • Use of un-secure means of communication for sensitive Defense planning (the Signal app??!) • Starting a trade war with the entire world (except for Russia). • Insider trading (tanking the economy, then posting “This is a great time to buy!!!” on Truth Social media, right before pausing most of the tariffs, and later bragging on camera in the Oval Office about how much money the ultra-wealthy – Charles Schwab and others – were able to make from his economic manipulations) President Trump is ignoring the Constitution, bullying and threatening people and institutions, and enriching billionaires while he makes things harder for millions of Americans and non-citizens alike. He is violating his oath of office and betraying the people he is supposed to be serving. He will only continue to escalate this behavior, unless you and your colleagues put a stop to this. You, too, swore an oath when you took on this office. You have a duty to protect this nation. Right now, Donald Trump poses an existential threat to the United States as he continues to dismantle the government and erode the norms and values of our great nation. You must act.
