Revoke jet-fuel tax breaks for deportation contractors like Avelo

To: Assembly Member González-Rojas, Gov. Hochul, Sen. Ramos

From: A verified voter in Jackson Heights, NY

August 14

New York’s jet-fuel tax breaks cost the state up to $17 million annually. Companies like Avelo Airlines — which operates deportation flights for ICE — should not benefit from these subsidies. Please support and pass legislation to end tax breaks for any airline that engages in deportation flights. In a time when deportations are being weaponized into a tool of authoritarianism, New York must resist in every way possible.
