“These petition laws are basic safeguards to prevent fraud,” Boyd said. “Without them, it makes our electoral system vulnerable to bad actors.” I am thrilled to learn citizens have a path to petitions that is not restricted by unconstitutional petition laws. The bad actor is Jester and the republicans supporting him. We don’t have kings. We have a legal process and ignoring it and making fake excuses is illegal and unethical. That’s what Jester has done. This is a win for people. The state should abandon the appeal. You’re appealing to not let us petition within our constitutional rights. That’s wrong and a waste of time and resources. Focus on the margin of error for SNAP so the state doesn’t lose more federal money that helps feed people.
