I am writing regarding Juan Carlos Lopez Gomez, a U.S.-born American citizen currently being held by ICE and seemingly at risk of deportation. Mr. Gomez was born in the U.S. and despite a judge ruling his birth certificate valid, he remains in ICE custody. I have two simple questions: 1- what are you doing yup help free Mr. Gomez? 2- what assurances can you give me, also a U.S,-born American citizen, that I will not be detained by ICE? As your constituent, I support your work to ensure that Mr. Gomez is released expediently, and I would remind you that very many of your constituents, people who voted for you, are at risk of being held wrongfully, or deported illegally, by ICE. What assurances can you give me that I will not be deported from the country of my birth to a country I've never even visited?
