Your Weekly Reminder: Start Standing Up for Your Constituents
To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt
From: A verified voter in Kansas City, MO
October 7
Consider this your weekly reminder: your constituents are paying attention, and accountability matters.
Russell Vought, Scott Kapoor, and this administration continue to pursue policies that are damaging federal agencies and the people who work for them. Federal employees are being subjected to uncertainty, disruption, and what Vought himself has described as an effort to “traumatize” the federal workforce.
That should concern you.
These are not abstract political talking points. Federal employees are your constituents. They are the people who keep the government functioning and provide the services that millions of Americans depend upon. When this administration attacks federal agencies, undermines the workforce, and deliberately creates instability, you have a responsibility to stand up and speak out.
Instead, too often, your constituents are left wondering where you stand.
So I am going to continue reminding you: you were elected to represent your constituents, not to simply fall in line with this administration.
If you expect the people you represent to continue supporting you at the ballot box, then you need to start demonstrating that you actually represent them. That means standing up when federal employees are being targeted. It means defending the agencies that serve the American people. And it means refusing to remain silent while this administration continues policies that are causing real harm to the federal workforce.
I am asking you directly: When are you going to start standing up for your constituents?
Because silence is a choice, and continued silence in the face of these actions will not go unnoticed.
This is your weekly reminder: your constituents are watching. Start representing us.
