Restore Medicaid health coverage and SNAP food aid in January Dear Member of Congress, Please make your first vote a bill that undoes the Medicaid, food assistance, and health insurance cuts in the 2025 reconciliation law. I'm writing to Democrats, and to every Republican who knows these cuts went too far. The timing is brutal. Families will lose coverage before the new majority takes their seats, and every week of waiting after that adds to the damage. The Congressional Budget Office says the BBB law will leave 10 million more people uninsured by 2034 and add $3.4 trillion to the deficit. About $1.06 trillion of that comes out of Medicaid and the health insurance marketplaces. Rural hospitals already running on fumes will eat the cost of unpaid care. One analysis put 338 hospitals at risk of closing. ACA premiums have increased by 50% in the past 2 years — and with much higher deductibles, copays, and out of pocket maximums for far less coverage, many have given up on coverage that’s now so very UNAFFORDABLE. Here's what I'm asking you to do: 1 Repeal the Medicaid work requirements and the extra eligibility checks. 2 Reverse the SNAP cost shift to states. 3 Bring back the enhanced ACA premium credits that expired in 2025. 4 Pay for it by rolling back the law's tax cuts for the highest earners. This can be fixed, and it doesn't have to be a party-line fight. Your neighbors are already living with the consequences. Please move fast.
