Reject Medicaid cuts, protect healthcare access for vulnerable Americans

Cutting Medicaid to finance tax cuts would be an unwise and deeply unpopular policy move. Recent polling data from Fabrizio Ward, a Trump campaign pollster, found that slashing Medicaid is overwhelmingly opposed by Trump voters themselves. As representatives, it is imperative that you heed the will of your constituents and reject any proposals to gut this vital healthcare program in order to pay for tax breaks that disproportionately benefit the wealthy. Medicaid provides essential medical coverage to millions of low-income Americans, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Protecting this program should be a top priority, given both the public's clear opposition to such cuts and the promises of representatives; House Speaker Mike Johnson himself has gone on record as saying, "we're going to be very careful not to cut a benefit for anyone who is eligible to receive [Medicaid] and relies upon it," which would account for roughly 38% of his own Louisiana District 4 (roughly 290,000 people, according to health information nonprofit KFF). I urge you to stand firm against any efforts to undermine Medicaid and instead focus on policies that truly improve the lives of all your constituents. Thank you for your time, and Slava Ukraini.
