Congratulations on the Prop 50 victory. Now it’s time to drop the pageantry and start fixing what’s broken—right now. California is the fourth‑largest economy in the world, with nearly 40 million residents as of 2024. With that scale comes responsibility. No more sending money off to Washington while our people go hungry.
We produce a quarter of the nation’s food, yet thousands of Californians face hunger this winter. We have one of the richest states; there is no reason any person here should lack two meals a day. According to cost‑of‑living data: the average Californian spends about $4,708 per year on food alone. It’s time to act like it.
You must:
• Establish an immediate food‑security program to provide two meals a day for every Californian in need this winter.
• Create a healthcare plan—including mental health care—that leaves no resident behind. According to the latest state reports, health spending is high and growing fast.
• Tax billionaires and corporations fairly. Extract real payments from the top tiers so the rest of the state doesn’t pay the price.
• Stop obsessing over Washington, stop letting federal drama dictate state priorities. California doesn’t need permission to do the right thing.
We’ve already voted on Prop 50. Your time for talk is over. Show this nation and the world that California knows what leadership looks like when it matters.
