Oppose Funding Cuts to NPR and PBS

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Deluzio

From: A verified voter in Pittsburgh, PA

April 23

Please oppose any cuts to public broadcasting services, including Trump's demand to cut funding destined for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Money for NPR and PBS is well-spent on valuable news, information, and educational programming for the American public, especially in rural and underserved areas. I grew up watching Sesame Street on PBS and listening to NPR. NPR is one of the few remaining news sources that isn't paywalled, and no one in America should need to pay to stay well-informed. A survey by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind found that NPR listeners answered more questions correctly about domestic and international news than people in any other category, including regular cable news watchers. It is an invaluable source of unbiased journalism and has been for decades. Please preserve funding for public broadcasting!
