Thank you for your persistence in passing today’s war powers resolution. This president has dragged not only the United States but the world into this war on Iran, making all of us deal with the consequences of this unpopular war. He has threatened to bomb civilian infrastructure. He has issued no apology or explanation when we bombed a school. I know that it took ten attempts to pass this war powers resolution, finally reining in the dangerous, unfettered and capricious power this president claims for himself. But it was worth the persistence to assert powers that rightfully belong to Congress as a coequal branch of our government. Thank you for your determination and thank you for your service.
