I am writing to urge you to support holding public hearings for Bill and Hillary Clinton's testimony before the House oversight committee regarding their connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Transparency in this investigation is essential to maintain public trust and ensure legitimate oversight rather than partisan theater.
Both Clintons have explicitly requested public hearings rather than closed-door depositions. Bill Clinton posted on social media calling to "stop the games and do this the right way: in a public hearing," while Hillary Clinton challenged the committee to have the proceedings in public if they want this fight. When witnesses actively seek transparency, denying it raises serious questions about the committee's true motives.
The Justice Department recently released over 3 million documents, photos, and videos related to its Epstein investigation. Bill Clinton appears regularly in these files, though no evidence has emerged implicating either Clinton in criminal activity. He has acknowledged flying on Epstein's plane in the early 2000s for Clinton Foundation humanitarian work but denies visiting Epstein's private island. Hillary Clinton states she had no meaningful interactions with Epstein and never flew on his plane or visited his properties.
Public hearings would allow constituents to evaluate the evidence firsthand rather than relying on selective leaks and partisan spin. This is particularly important given that President Trump, who was a longtime Epstein associate, has not been called to testify despite his documented connections. The appearance of selective targeting undermines the investigation's credibility.
If this committee seeks truth rather than political advantage, it should welcome the sunlight of public scrutiny. I urge you to advocate for public hearings that allow the American people to assess the facts themselves. Transparency serves justice; secrecy breeds suspicion.
