I urge you to block the proposed regulatory and funding changes to Head Start. These changes would cut program hours and reduce service quality. Investing in high-quality Head Start services leads to wide-ranging benefits for children, families, and our economy. I do not want to see these strong, evidenced-based standards of care for young children changed or the program defunded by the federal government. In fact, Congress has appropriated 12.37 billion to Head Start for FY27, and I’d like to see Congress invest even more in FY28 into our children’s futures. Every child in the U.S. deserves to have equitable access to programs that prepare them for the future. Head Start provides that access and should not be deregulated on the federal level.
