Time and again, we hear of a land soaked with the blood of its own sons and daughters. A land where both the innocent and the guilty share the same fate, crushed under the relentless wheel of war. Most distressing is the knowledge that it is the resources we offer that are being utilized to inflict this suffering. Our hard-earned funds, millions of our dollars, are directed not towards the alleviation of pain, but towards the propagation of torment, ignominy, and devastation. We, as the United States, may not be the instigators of this war between Israel and Palestine, but by persistently funding and arming one side in this destructive struggle, we are undeniably complicit. There are laws in place restricting war activities, and it's heartbreaking to observe that in this case, they are more often than not, being systematically breached. The Geneva Conventions expressly state that warring parties must at all times distinguish between civilians and fighters, yet this line is all too often blurred. Innocent lives are being sacrificed for a cause they may not even support. Our financing is, unknowingly or otherwise, aiding in the commission of acts that are nothing short of crimes against humanity. This is, to put it simply, unacceptable. I plead urgently for us to reconsider our stance. To take a long, hard look at the reality on the ground, stripped of political convenience and strategic consideration, to witness the human suffering that our support is indirectly inflicting. It is time we consider a ceasefire, and an end to the supply of arms that only serve to perpetuate this endlessly destructive cycle. Rather, let us be the bearers of peace, support and reconciliation, working not for the interests of one side, but for a fair and just resolution that upholds the dignity and rights of all individuals involved. Enough is enough. It is not yet too late for us to redefine our role in this tragedy, and we must act now to change course before it is too late.
