I am writing as a concerned constituent to urge you to oppose the nomination of Emil Bove to the federal bench. Mr. Bove’s selection has drawn unprecedented criticism from 900 legal professionals who signed an open letter warning of his unsuitability for this lifetime appointment. Their objections are clear: Bove lacks substantial trial experience, having never served as lead counsel in a case to verdict—a glaring deficiency for a federal judge. Furthermore, colleagues and courtroom observers have described his judicial temperament as abrasive and dismissive, raising serious doubts about his ability to preside fairly. Most troubling, however, is his deep involvement in politically charged prosecutions, including cases against Trump allies (Michael Cohen, Rudy Giuliani) and Hunter Biden, which creates an unavoidable perception of partisanship at a time when public trust in the judiciary is already strained.
The breadth of opposition from legal experts—including former DOJ officials—should not be ignored. Our courts deserve nominees with demonstrated competence, impartiality, and respect for the rule of law, not those whose careers invite skepticism about their motivations. I urge you to reject this nomination and demand a candidate with unquestioned qualifications and neutrality.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I would appreciate a response outlining your stance.
