Reject partisan Bondi for independent DOJ leadership
To: Sen. Butler, Sen. Padilla
From: A constituent in Clovis, CA
November 22
I urge you to reject the nomination of Pam Bondi as Attorney General. As a longtime ally and lawyer for Donald Trump, there are serious concerns about her ability to lead the Department of Justice with independence and impartiality. Bondi has been an outspoken critic of the criminal cases against Trump, blasting prosecutors as "horrible" people trying to "weaponize our legal system" against him. With Trump threatening retribution against perceived adversaries, appointing such a partisan loyalist raises alarms about the DOJ being used for political vendettas rather than upholding equal justice under the law. The Attorney General must prioritize the rule of law over any individual's interests. Bondi's track record casts doubt on her commitment to that principle. I implore you to carefully scrutinize this nomination and demand assurances that Bondi will uphold the DOJ's independence and integrity if confirmed.
