Protect Social Security. That means no benefit cuts, no raising the retirement age, and no privatization schemes that would gamble retirees' futures on the stock market. I need you to go on record opposing any proposal that reduces what current or future beneficiaries have earned.
Social Security is not a handout — it is a promise backed by decades of payroll contributions from working people. Millions of Americans depend on it as their primary source of retirement income, and any erosion of those benefits hits the most vulnerable hardest. The program is financially fixable without cutting benefits, and you know it. Raise the payroll tax cap on high earners and the problem is largely solved.
Stand up for the people who built this country and paid into this system their entire working lives. I will be watching your votes and your public statements on this issue closely.
