Co-sponsor and Pass the Free Child Care for America Act Now

October 15

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to Co-sponsor and help passage of the Free Child Care for America Act. Childcare costs are crushing working and middle-class families, and this $1 trillion, 10-year package offers a serious, fully costed solution with three flexible pathways so families can choose what works for them, whether that is a licensed center, a family provider, or a stay-at-home parent. The numbers are honest. The research dine for this bill puts the price tag at $80 to $90 billion annually to make childcare free, pay providers fairly, and build real flexibility into the system. That cost can be offset through a 5% billionaire tax generating $400 billion in new revenue or a $200 billion reduction in Pentagon spending. This is not a vague promise. It is a funded blueprint. Childcare is a public good, and the market has failed to treat it like one. Families across this country are asking the same question: how do I take a good job and still take care of my kids? This bill answers that. Pass it as soon as practicable. Thank you.
