Vote no on HB 1. Kentucky voters already rejected Amendment 2 in 2024, which would have allowed public support for private education. HB 1 advances the same core idea through a different funding mechanism. While it uses tax credits tied to federal programs instead of a constitutional amendment, the end result is similar: public resources and incentives are shifted toward private school scholarships. Changing the funding structure doesn’t change the policy outcome. Voters made their position clear at the ballot box. Repackaging the same idea in a different form ignores that decision. The people of Kentucky already spoke on this issue. That decision should be respected.
