Block this deal to hand Yosemite National Park land to a private Nevada developer. According to reporting by NOTUS, the National Park Service — under direction from Trump officials — has been working to give a private company access to build a road through a quarter-mile strip of park land, connecting a central Yosemite thoroughfare to the developer's private property just outside the park's western boundary. This has apparently been in the works since last spring, with no public input.
Yosemite belongs to the American people, not to a real estate developer looking for a convenient access road. A land swap dressed up as an equal exchange doesn't change what this is: using a beloved national park as a subsidy for private profit. The National Park Service's own spokesperson confirmed no final decision has been made — which means there is still time to stop it. Demand a full public process, oppose any legislation or administrative action that enables this transfer, and make clear that Yosemite's land is not for sale.
