Hi, I’m a member of Indivisible Westside LA. I’m dismayed by the regime’s ongoing attack on science and the environment. It’s currently dismantling the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), the backbone of American weather and climate science. NCAR’s researchers develop the models and tools that the National Weather Service, private forecasters, and emergency managers rely on every day. I am also appalled by the Environmental Protection Agency’s repeal of the 2009 Endangerment Finding, which stated that greenhouse gases “endanger public health and welfare” under the Clean Air Act. This repeal will deregulate emission controls for vehicles and power plants and seriously impair public health. I urge you to do everything possible to protect NCAR and overturn the repeal of the EPA’s Endangerment finding: they’re critical to protecting Americans’ health and welfare, and the future of the planet. I also want to thank the Senator for refusing to fund DHS until ICE and CPB are forced to follow the Constitution and the law. We cannot continue to have unaccountable secret police abducting, injuring, and murdering citizens and non-citizens alike. Please keep up the resistance for as long as it takes. And finally, I urge the Senator to do whatever is necessary to block passage of the SAVE America Act – it is must-NOT-pass legislation that will disenfranchise millions of Americans.
