Hawaiian lawmakers must investigate the $35,000 handed to one of our legislators in a paper bag.
American politics is rife with corruption and your constituents are sick of watching the people who help make the laws and demand that the public uphold the law, skirt the laws.
It doesn't look good that Nadine Nakamura and Ron Kouchi have been resistant to calling a state inquiry. It really makes them and all of our law makers appear guilty as hell.
If Ty Cullen is being given leniency by the feds to turn over another lawmaker with an even worser offense than his own, then it's even more appalling that the rest of our lawmakers seem to be protecting that unnamed individual who clearly broke the law.
I urge you to stand by your Oath of Office and faithfully perform your duties to act ethically and seek out bad actors in our state government.
We don't have more money to waste on bad contracts and shady deals. Our communities depend on you to act in good faith and cut out corruption even among your own.
