Stand Up Against OPM Overreach and Protect Federal Workers
To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt
From: A verified voter in Kansas City, MO
April 11
I am writing to you as a constituent who is deeply concerned about the current direction of the Office of Personnel Management and the leadership decisions being made that are actively undermining the integrity of our federal workforce.
What we are seeing is not reform. It is dismantling. Policies coming out of OPM are eroding worker protections, destabilizing agencies, and driving out experienced public servants who are essential to keeping this country functioning. This is not efficient government. It is reckless and short sighted.
Russell Vought’s influence and ideology are especially alarming. His approach to governance shows a clear disregard for the value of nonpartisan civil service and the critical role federal employees play in serving the American people. This is not about accountability. It is about control and weakening institutions that are meant to serve the public, not political agendas.
You were elected to represent your constituents, not to remain silent while federal agencies are hollowed out from within. Many of your constituents are federal employees, veterans, and families who rely on a stable and effective government. Right now, that stability is being threatened.
I am asking you to take a stand. Speak out publicly against the harmful direction OPM is taking. Demand transparency. Push back on policies that undermine the workforce. Protect the people who dedicate their careers to serving this country.
Silence at this moment is not neutrality. It is complicity.
Your constituents are paying attention. We expect leadership, not passivity.
