I have faith in you governor Hochul, moving forward with hotline for CEO’s is plain ridiculous. Please do not cave to over privileged men. They are over compensated monetarily, if they are that worried about their safety they can hire private security. When in history have we seen such a quick response to women and children’s safety??? “Just another school shooting” seems to be the mantra of the GOP, how about pushing forward laws that would protect our children from the second amendment? Children are not equipped to handle the trauma of any type of violence, specifically school shootings. Parents are not equipped to handle the death of their children. This lunacy is beyond belief!! Yes, we are lucky to have strict gun laws in NYS, but they are strict enough, in my opinion. Guns were created to kill, period. They aren’t meant for collecting, or for sport. I often wonder why so many people feel the need to own a gun(s), I realize some will claim it’s for their own safety, but if we had much stricter gun laws across the nation people would feel safer. I, for one, hate guns. When my son received toy guns as gifts growing up, I would throw them right into the trash! And why on earth does anyone need to win an automatic assault weapon? My brain cannot comprehend this concept. Speaking candidly, I feel no sympathy for Brian, rather, I hold it for Luigi and for the thousands OF CHILDREN MURDERED AND INJURED BY WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. I cannot believe this is still an issue in America!!!! I’d also want to see stronger protections put into place for women. We need protection from our biggest predators, men. My daughter and I do not leave the house without our pepper spray, keychain alarm, rape & whistle. What’s happening to bill 2023-S2421? Almost 95% of offenders against women are male, and white males are leading than percentage. Why should it be illegal for a person to own a taser? Would they not be the best method of self defense? In the meantime, a short drive to Pennsylvania to buy a taser, where they are legal, is what we are forced to do if we plan on surviving in this country. Again, please, please do not give into the white male energy that is in control of all that we say and do. We do not need to waste our time and money on protecting men!!! I know there are women CEO’s, but that number pales in comparison to men CEO’s. Also, women are smarter than men, we know we have to protect ourselves since our society & government does not.
