I am writing to demand that you make every effort to stop Trump's disastrous stupid tariffs. These tariffs are foolish efforts to exert power in a way that will not work. International trade is an engine of growth and enables nations to specialize in ways that help many nations. Tariffs cost money. President Biden left office with a robust dynamic economy. Much of the COVID slump cause by Trump in his first term were painstakingly averted by the Biden administration and acts of Congress. President Trump's disastrous foolish actions since his inauguration has left to economic crisis. This is a Trump Recession and it will lead to a Trump Depression. This Trump Recession is not a natural result of market forces or economic rules. It is a chosen path of destruction. The stock markets are collapsing. Trading partners are cutting the United States out. Consumer goods are climbing in price. Combine this with layoffs of federal employees, federal contractors, and many others and you see how troubling this is. Stop the Trump Recession before it becomes a Depression. Take Congressional power of the purse back to ensure that the economy works for the American people. Thank you.
