Use every tool available to you to block funding for Trump's self-aggrandizing construction projects in Washington. The president himself admitted in a New York Magazine interview that he's building monuments to himself — a triumphal arch, a White House ballroom, a 250-foot arch near Arlington National Cemetery — saying "nobody will do it once I'm gone." That's not a national security argument. That's a legacy project on the public dime.
A source close to Trump told CNN the quiet part out loud: "The one thing they can't tear down will be the East Wing. That is his lasting impact. That's why he cares so deeply: legacy sh*t." Even some congressional Republicans and Trump's own advisers are alarmed, warning these projects could hurt the GOP in the midterms. If his own allies see this for what it is, there's no excuse for Congress to keep writing the checks. Defund these projects now.
