At what point will you speak up? Your silence either means you agree with the corruption and lawlessness happening or you lack the courage to speak up. Either way you are failing us! Our democracy is under continuous attack. We have a President attacking the media, universities, agencies, lawyers, Judges. Politicians and anyone who dares to disagree with him. We have ICE detaining US citizens without causing and keeping them for extended periods without cause. Recently a US citizen traveling to Arizona was detained and held for ten days. He was not a criminal. He did not engage in illegal activity. His last name reflected he was Hispanic so I can guess this was the issue- discrimination. He’s only one example! We have a President paying an El Salvador concentration camp known for torture to detain indefinitely at least one and likely more Venezuelans who aren’t criminals and without being given due process. We have a President who refuses to abide by a unanimous Supreme Court decision to facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and cooperate with the request for steps taken! We have a President who is threatening world trade by issuing one tariff after another and wrecking our economy while he does it. We have a Republican Congress who refuses to address any of the above and instead is attempting to push through a budget that gives millionaires huge tax cuts while gutting Medicaid and likely Snap. Oklahoma has at least a third of Oklahomans on Medicaid. Gutting it will devastate Oklahomans and will mean hospital closures very likely in rural counties. We have a President attempting to push through a voting act that would make it harder for married women and poorer people to vote! We have a President who has put the richest man in the world and an unelected billionaire in charge of gutting all of federal government raising the rate of unemployment and threatening government agencies we depend on while handing government contracts to Elon Musk. We have a President actively aligning with Russia and blaming Ukraine for Russia’s actions. And yet you remain silent. You send our form letters with Trumps talking points on it. Did you notice polls are now showing Trumps rating at 37%. So while you remain mute and we descend into authoritarianism, please know we see what is happening! You can’t defend your inaction. As our lives get harder, we witness your betrayal. We deserve better Senator! We need leaders. Not colluders! Not Senators that follow the party line no matter how much it violates our very constitution. We see you Senator Lankford and we aren’t impressed. Do your job or step down! We deserve better!
