No more ICE detention centers

To: Rep. Crane, Sen. Kelly, Sen. Gallego

From: A verified voter in Flagstaff, AZ

February 13

I am adamantly opposed to ICE converting any more warehouses or any buildings in our country into detention centers and would like the currently open ones closed. I am appalled by what I have read about the conditions at existing detention centers, which are run like prisons, which *never turn the lights off* (which I'm fairly certain is a torture tactic that is illegal), which serve bug-infested foods, which do not provide adequate medical care, and which *incarcerate children and prevent them from attending school.* ICE are the bad guys right now, and that is unacceptable at a national level, and absolutely must not be repeated at any new facilities. Shame on anyone who supports this travesty. The fifth amendment says that no person (not no citizen, but no *person*) shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. These mass roundups of human beings and sending them to detention centers violate the Constitution. Full stop.
