<message> The Trump administration's refusal to facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the United States, despite a clear Supreme Court ruling ordering his release from an El Salvadorian prison and repatriation, is unacceptable. This brazen defiance of the highest court in the land sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the rule of law. Congress cannot allow this contempt of court to go unchallenged. As representatives sworn to uphold the Constitution, we must take decisive action to compel the administration's compliance with the Supreme Court's legally binding decision. Failure to do so would effectively nullify the court's authority and erode the foundations of our democratic system of checks and balances. If diplomatic efforts and budgetary leverage prove insufficient to secure Mr. Abrego Garcia's lawful return, then Congress must explore all available means to retrieve him from unlawful detention abroad. Allowing the Trump administration to indefinitely imprison someone in violation of a Supreme Court order is antithetical to our nation's core values of justice and liberty. The integrity of our judicial system and the fundamental rights it is meant to protect demand a resolute response from the legislative branch. We must act decisively to uphold the rule of law and ensure no one is deprived of their freedom without due process, as guaranteed by the Constitution. The American people expect and deserve nothing less. </message>
