As one of your Ohio constituents, I urge you to support the AI Data Center Moratorium Act.
71% of Americans oppose building data centers in their communities. This widespread, local, bipartisan opposition to data centers comes as the centers raise energy prices, threaten the electrical grid, suck up precious water resources, and severely damage the environment.
Data centers suck up massive amounts of water and energy. They create “heat islands,” warming temperatures for millions of people by up to a whopping 16 degrees Fahrenheit. They pose serious threats to public health. Electricity costs have gone up by 267% over the last five years in areas near data centers. You must listen to the people and stop data center construction. I'm deeply interested in your views on this issue. I'm looking forward to your reply.
